I have been getting the sun maid dry mixed fruit lately. They have pitted prunes, apricots, pears, and apple rings, and they're available at your local grocery store. The only ingredients besides the natural fruit is potassium sorbate and sulpher dioxide as a preservative.

Is there anything "dangerous" about this tasty convenience that makes it avoidable? I dont know of anything yet. I know they are very useful and affordable, very tasty, and convenient.

I think dried fruit has a tendency towards higher GL, but that may be just because they usually because they're more dense..

so... moderation, I guess?

I recall reading that dried apricots have lower GI than fresh ones. Of course, this is one source. Every source with list of GI is always different from each other.

Dried fruit as an enormous glycemic load, regardless of its glycemic index.
