Cost of Taxes as an affiliate?

I'm looking at starting an affiliate in the future and I'm writing a business plan in a college class I'm taking. I was wondering aproximately what percentage of money is lost in taxes. I'm sure it varies by location, but I'm just trying to get a ballpark number.

Re: Cost of Taxes as an affiliate?

If I remember correctly.... Jon from Again Faster discusses this in his "Starting an Affiliate" series.

Even if it doesn't address your specific question, these videos are full of great info.

Re: Cost of Taxes as an affiliate?

Most Affiliates are flow-through entities so the answer is not much at the Affiliate level. Payroll tax if you paid employees and fun stuff like FICA and Social security. After that it would depend on the Federal tax bracket of the owners as well as the state and local taxes.

On a personal level I bet most of us pay 50% or more of our income in taxes, actual or ones passed through as increases in cost of goods.
