Re: 1LT Nick Harris - 279 CAV - Work Out Post

Good point. One thing I have noticed being a problem is the soldiers are timid about doing something different. And unfortunately for many of my counterparts they have never had much of a workout routine to begin with.

I just try to encourage that it doesn't have to be as intense as my work out is in the beginning. That each soldier can adjust and design their workouts to their limits and grow with CrossFit over time.

Most of the soldiers I work with don't care about getting huge, they want to improve on cardio, strength, and lose weight. We try to hold each other accountable with what we eat, how much sleep we get, and time put int he gym. Like all other soldiers though, the amount of work is high and time to ourselves is low. And that is where CrossFit wins them over! You don't have to spend an hour and a half in the gym to achieve what you want. You can have an intense specific workout and be out of there in 30 to 45 minutes.

My advice, keep working on them. Be positive. And let them see the changes in you! Let me know how it goes!

God bless!

Re: 1LT Nick Harris - 279 CAV - Work Out Post

Saturday 080119
"Nancy"

Five rounds for time of:
400 meter run (replaced with 10 to 15 pullups)
75 pound Overhead squat, 15 reps

I have been sick for the last couple of days and felt pretty weak today so I didn't time myself and lighted up my weights and shifted from run to pullups. Big weakling today... hopefully over this sore through and aches feeling soon.

God bless all...

Re: 1LT Nick Harris - 279 CAV - Work Out Post

Complete as many rounds as you can in twenty minutes of:
5 Handstand Push-ups
10 L Pull-ups
15 Steps, Walking Lunge

After our warm ups I could only do (3) rounds because I was helping a couple of new recruits to Crossfit and we ran out of time at the base gym.

I'll make up the deadlifts today with the running...

Yeah!

God bless

Finally in Iraq! Wow, what a place! Anyway, when I have more time I will start posting my logs of what all did up to this point. My weight is around the same, eating habits are hit and miss, never know what the chow hall will have. Anyway, live on CrossFit!

Re: 1LT Nick Harris - 279 CAV - Work Out Post

Well, we finally got approval here in Iraq to post stuff on the CrossFit message boards!

After months of training I have got my body fat down to an average of 7 to 8%. 6ft tall 175 lbs. I would like to pack on about 10 more lbs of lean muscle, but it will take time.
