After watching several of the workout videos (CJ, barbell thruster, etc.) I noticed several of us may listen to the same kind of music during our WOD.

Anyone care to share their preferred music and how they mix it up?

Rage Against the Machine always gets me fired up.

A good Jimi Hendrix or Zeppelin mix would get the job done as well.

Kidney Thieves, Nine Inch Nails, Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast, Marilyn Manson, Rage, etc are all loaded on my mp3 player currently.

Well, thanks to it randomly being in my CD player one day, for a couple of weeks my workout music was the greatest hits of Jackie Wilson!
It was quite bizarre working out to "Reet Petite" etc, but it did introduce a bit of levity to proceedings. I have to admit though that Jackie's motivational power isn't all that great!

Recently I've discovered Rage as well, absolutely fantastic stuff - I start with "Know Your Enemy" and leave it running from there, in the hope that the workout'll be over before the end of "Township Rebellion"!

Changes a lot. I especially like power/prog metal (dragonforce and dream theater are some of my faves). I also like Soundgarden.

Isis. Old Man Gloom. Cult Of Luna.

Basically slow, droning, loud and heavy music. It helps me get in the right headspace to try and kill myself with a pullup bar.

-D.
