I'm going to have to ask for an explanation. And nope, not taking it until this coming September.

My bad, I guess :S

If no air resistance is present, the rate of descent depends only on how far the object has fallen, no matter how heavy the object is. This means that two objects will reach the ground at the same time if they are dropped simultaneously from the same height. This statement follows from the law of conservation of energy and has been demonstrated experimentally by dropping a feather and a lead ball in an airless tube.

A 10lb ball falls at the same speed as a 20lb ball. Acceleration due to gravity is constant (9.8m/s^2) regardless of the object's mass, except in extreme cases like comparing a baseball to a beachball.

The bigger ball has more kinetic energy (i.e. it will hit the ground harder, in layman's terms) because KE varies directly in proportion to an object's mass (KE=.5mv^2), but mass still doesn't affect acceleration due to gravity or the velocity of an object.

Haha I would hope not

and okay, that makes sense. Matthew, Eric, I'm turning to you guys for physics homework next year

Any monkey can do calculus and physics; it is all the other subjects that were tricky

I hope you're joking. I can write a paper on a fifth of booze and dropping acid. Mathematical modeling courses and applied physics? Not so much. "Tricky" is relative to how stupid you are.

Daniel, PM your physics homework away. I'd be glad to help.

It was tongue in cheek, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. I can do calc & physics in my sleep but back in school when asked to watch a film then write a paper about it I was very lost.

I've honed my BS skills. Papers have subsequently become a breeze.

Ditto! Write sentences that make half sense, thesaurus, and don't repeat yourself too much.

I've found writing papers in college was a joke. I never received lower than an 88 on a paper, and I wrote almost all of my papers about 5 hours before they were due. Teachers hardly care for the actual content of the paper these days.
