Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Hackenbruck and Spealler work out at least at the same elevation as their Regionals venue. Elevation would have been more of an issue for someone coming from Las Vegas, for example.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

The announcers kept saying that the event record for the mens rope climb was Rory Boyden from Australia with 3:29. But there were 4 guys from Latin America with better times:

Mark Desin 3:23
Franciso Javier 3:24
Lucas Rosa 3:25
Augusto Castro 3:28

I wonder what is the story behind that, and why Crossfit is not recognizing Mark Desin's mark as the event record.

Supposedly the distance for the 200ft sprint was quite a bit shorter in that region due to the venue setup...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I loved how Chris Spealler paced himself in Event 6, very smart

and he killed Event 7, very impressed with his OHS

Maddox also was great in Event 7

BUT anyone else think that Matt Fraser is truly LEGIT ?

I think he can challenge Froning and Panchik

The games is gonna be great, some really strong competitors in the Mens

I don't think the women's is as deep but am looking forward to seeing Annie v Julie v Camille

Same stuff we do every year....

Talk about who will win, how we would make the programming better, how we would add additional people to the mix, and how "so and so" must be on PED's to be able to do what they do.

oh.... and someone please make a 1K burpee bet again.

Don't forget about speculating on how Joe Pro Athlete would perform if they were in the Games.

What if...

So would Klokov have been in first place after day 1 in any region? I am assuming the guy is pretty good at walking on his hands? How much would he have hang snatched?

185kg (407lb) pause at the knee snatch. Sort of similar. I think the way they did it at the games would make it even more easy to get that much if not more.

My guess would be 350lbs at least.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Which female pro athletes from sports other than CF do you think would have done well at the regionals?

And would they have made Mark's power trio list?
