Expanding the Crossfit Community

How can we broaden the community of Crossfit to include the socioeconomically disadvantaged? Steve's Club is a great start for kids. What about those adults who cannot traditionally afford it, but cannot afford to NOT do it?

Brian.

Sounds like a great way to volunteer one's time and make a difference! So when do you start?

Brian, if you see there is something lacking that needs attention the only way to address it is by either tending to it yourself or organizing a group.

Re: Expanding the Crossfit Community

most affiliates are pretty cool at adjusting the price of membership if the person is truly committed to Crossfit.

It takes a bit of balls to actually admit this to a stranger.... so is an affiliate really going to turn them away if the individual is honest and upfront about it? There are ways people can work in the box for their discount…. Nothing in life is free, but you don’t always have to exchange Benjamins either.

You don't need to have a lot of money to do CrossFit. When I was doing CrossFit, I did it in my apartment, or on the street, or by the playground. If you're low on funds, be creative.
