Preventing Injuries

Hi, I am new to CF. Other than stretching after workouts and not overtraining, what are some good ways to prevent injuries?

Good coaching and a LOT of practice with PVC pipe/low weight. Video tape yourself and compare to the main site videos. Use the online coaching here on the boards. Get the TECHNIQUE! Get it consistent. Then Start adding weight/reps, etc.

Learn to recognize when you're not adapted to an exercise. If that's the case, then do it with low intensity--way lower than your ego wants you to. "Adapted to" doesn't usually mean "having done it 3-4 times."

Also, linear progressions are your friend. Haphazard progressions are not.

1. Mobility work
2. Recognize poor biomechanics and fix them
3. Good posture
4. Eliminating strength imbalances

Stay hydrated. Cut out caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.
Rule #1: Crossfit. Zombies lead a very active life. So should you.
