The Holy Grail of Shoulder Flexibility?

Read this on Rip's board:

"If conventional stretching hasn't helped, there are talented PTs that know how to release the joint capsule with a stretch they can apply to your shoulder. You just have to find one that knows how ...

Best I can tell, the single session stretched out my capsular ligament to the point that I can now carry overhead in good lockout on the side I had done, while the un-worked-on side is still short of lockout. I have to assume that the change is in the ligament itself. Don't know how, but the genius behind this is Dr. Kelly Starrett, my buddy at San Francisco CrossFit."

I have constant problems with this. I can do light OHS (65lbs for reps is about it) and I only get into the OHS position by really wrenching my arms back. Absent weight and a bar to pull against, I cannot get my arms verticle without a very significant arch in my back that compromises my overhead stability. It also ruins my handstand form so I'm not "stacked up" as read Stephen describe it once. I stretch a lot, which is the only reason I have progressed this far (been doing CF for years). Does anyone know about K Starr's RX that Rip mentioned?

You could probably email him and get an answer from the horse's mouth.

Re: The Holy Grail of Shoulder Flexibility?

Me to because my shoulders definitely give me problems. Any exercises you do please let me know. I almost feel like mine are pulling out of socket at times which is why I think I have had a problem playing volleyball the last two years. It also may be a strength issue but it just became a problem two years ago and I have been playing vball for 6 years.
