For someone who doesn't follow the UF forums, or the show for that matter, I'm curious to know what Shamrock's workout plan is/was for his team to receive such bad reviews. Can anyone shed light on this?

This is what Kalib wrote on the TUF forums:

"Ken does excellent circuit training on the weights, the best I've ever had. We did it once in seven weeks.

Dan was a very nice guy.

Roman was an excellent boxing coach.

We had no wrestling or jiu-jitsu training to speak of. Ed and I taught Soloman, Tait, Mike, Jesse etc. at the gym and in our spare time at home on the carpet. We were only allowed to train at designated times, which was absolute crap if you ask me. I came there in excellent shape and left in the worst shape I've been in in years, this is not an excuse for my loss by the way, I was beaten fairly, it's just a fact. In the seven weeks prior to my semifinal fight I had about two weeks worth of good training. Ken stopped me from training with Ed, my best sparring partner, because he thought we may end up fighting later on. Every day going to the the gym was a disappointment and I did not want to be there at all, which is not the way I am usually."

It substantiates everything Tait told me when he came home from the show as well. He said they did one circuit early on combining bag work and weights, and never did it again.

I was pretty indifferent to Ortiz and Shamrock. Not now. I am on the Ortiz side of the fence. If you watch them Ortiz does a really good job of leading his fighters. When they fight Ortiz is in the ring between rounds right there by them, giving the pep talk. He pulls them together and builds a team. Shamrock is behind the fence in thier ear. Its like he doesn't want to be involved. Ortiz seemed to spend alot of time with them. He didn't degrade them from what I saw. Shamrock was calling people "punks" or some other p word. He acted like his crap didn't stink and they owed him something. Granted we saw only what they wanted to show us. Shamrock seems like an old man that would run out on his porch and yell at kids for being in his yard. He doesn't impress me as a person. He could still kick my a$$.

Ken has been working on his striking, so he has a legit puncher's chance. Tito will be able to take Ken down at will, I doubt it will be on the feet as long as thier last fight.

Tito's GNP >>> Ken's stalling guard = Tito by decision.

I'm not sure how much Tito's ACL will affect the "ooomp" in his takedowns.

Either way, the last time Ken couldn't come out for the 3rd.

This time i don't think he will even get that far.

I've heard that Ken has enlisted a new group of trainers in preparation for this fight. Does anyone see this producing a fresher Shamrock?

NOt sure if it matters at this point. Ken doesn't exactly strike me as being to willing to learn....so if he is just honing what he has, nope....if he has been wreslting like a mad man and working his BJJ then yeah.

My money is one him being the same old Shamrock though.

He would have to improve his striking about 5000% to have a legit puncher's chance. Not going to happen. Only way Ken wins is if Tito knocks himself out during a takedown.
