Get your grubby little hands off my industry

OK, so the title is a little inflammatory...but what can I say, I'm slightly right of Genghis Kahn.

The Affordable Care Act is looking at funding "lifestyle intervention", where the 86 million Americans who suffer from Pre-Diabetes can receieve funding to attend nutritional and physical activity classes / courses etc.

Now don't get me wrong, Pre Diabetes is a medical catastrophy for sure, but my beleif is the governments track record when it gets involved in solving problems is abysmal. I beleive the government should be a place that leads but does not do, and for good reason.

It doesn't take a genuis to see the 2nd and 3rd level consequences of a massive bottomless revenue stream entering our market...

Thoughts?

Medicare Proposal Takes Aim at diabetes.

We have a nation of very overweight people with a governing body that subsidizes some of the worst things we could put in our bodies. We have a nation that, let's face it is largely unhealthy, I think any incentive to try to get healthy is a good one.

I couldn't agree more.

And I love it when I see the private sector incentivise wellness.

However, more likely than not, the federal dollars going into this program will become cyrupted, and it's original purpose become bastardized and inaffective...

History repeats more often then not...sad but true.
