Why did you decide on subbing Overhead Squats for snatches for newbies? The overhead squat is the most advanced version is squats, and the average isn't ready for them. I would choose a different version of ground to overhead for most newbies.

Point being - you have to make sure your newbie programming is actually appropriate to newbies to keep them motivated.
