squat form check

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avaSdC0QOUM

**safe for work and family**

What exactly is my issue? Do I have any flexibility issues? Is the weight too heavy for me(I don't really have an ego here...)?

Re: squat form check

Don't know if you did that on purpose, but your link goes to the music video for "I'm on a Boat". Good song, but can't help you with that one!

Re: squat form check

You have your weight too far forward onto your toes. Imagine the weight/pressure be driven more through your heels.

Also when you start, you should be tense and locked under the bar, not with one foot unsupported behind you. Then you need to be able to fully extend your hips. You seem bent over at the top of your squat. Finally, on your way down you seem to be twisting. We need to keep the abs/torso firm and a good arch in your back to prevent twisting.

Right now, pick one or two thinkgs and focus on them--I'd say getting the body tense/locked under the bar and having the weight on the heels.

Thanks for the advice, man. Much appreciated.

Re: squat form check

just because it's the exact thing i struggle with...

try to stay more upright from the start. weight on hells, deep breath and tight core to give you lots of MLS...

i'm super weak on all of that...we'll improve together.
