The computer on the rower turns off after a time of inactivity. In an event such as this, it's the judges responsibility to make sure that thing is ready to go when the athlete comes back to it.
I was a judge at the 2010 NE sectionals, we had row, burpee box jumps, row as the first wod. My *** was frantic to make sure that rower was operational when my athletes jumped back on it.
