If you do any kind of lifting program, many have found that the assistance work for said program works well in WODs. For instance, on squat day, you can do a workout with hill sprints or box jumps, or power cleans/snatches (hint hint) or whatever you want.
What you want to be careful about is doing an all out lifting program and an all out 3 on 1 off workout thing, you can wear yourself out really easy that way.
