I agree with Andrew. I am a year removed from a L5/S1 Microdysectomy as I did not listen to my body before I started CrossFit. What I thought was just, 'tightness' in my back ended up being a ruptured disc.
I realize that my case may be extreme but I would highly encourage you to see a specialist, which could include a reputable PTherapist or a spinal specialist. I tried to diagnose myself and the soft tissue/mobility work I did ended up causing more problems to the area.
