I think most of the people on this site are down on beans. The reasons are complex. If you do eat beans, soy beans have the most protein. I make my own tofu from time to time, and it is really good.

Tuna is usually pretty cheap, and I eat a LOT of that, as well as Kipper Snacks and Sardines. You can get them pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. You can also get egg whites pretty cheap at . I eat a lot of regular eggs too. If you work this program hard, you'll need quite a bit of protein. I think most people would probably benefit from at least 75-100 grams/day.
