I would not run in chucks, use your running shoes. The un-compressibility of chucks is going to do your knees no favours. Also, running shoes typically have a higher heel that propels you forward.

Try some lace locks for putting your shoes on quickly. If triathletes can change shoes in the middle of a race, you can change 'em in the middle of a workout.
