I agree with Kalen.
When people actually eat right (something resembling The Zone for most people) and exercise effectively (CrossFit),rather than buying supplements and doing worthless pseudo-bodybuilding routines they improve their appearance.
It takes a while and it hurts, and you have to chase function rather than form, but it works, unlike sitting in the gym doing curls and low intensity elliptical machines.
Saying that exercise doesn't work is true as long as you are talking about the completely ineffective exercise that most people do.
I have seen several people completely change the way they look doing CrossFit and The Zone, but it takes 1 to 2 years, much longer than most people have the patience to stick with a program.
