The way I understand it, metcon stuff would be anything that is "sprint interval" and anaerobic, high intensity, and uses as much as possible of the whole body. So, yes, a lot of the WODs do focus on metcon, but there are lots that don't. Think of the max effort days, like 060603 (Back Squat 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps).
