Those of you doing Zone, Atkins, South Beach, NHE, and other like diets might be interested in using quinoa instead of rice, pasta, wheat, and other starches. Quinoa is a grain that was popular with the ancient Incas. A serving size of 1/3 cup dry (43g) has 160 calories, 20 kcal from fat. It containes 30 g of Carbs (3g of fiber) and 6 grams of protein.
