You are perpetuating a myth, or a misconception I often see. Beta-Alanine taken only as a pre-workout won't do much of anything. You need to use it daily to experience its full benefits. One of its primary theorized mechanisms of action is the buildup of carnosine in your muscle cells. Taken it only pre-workout, unless you train 7 days per week will not do that effectively.
