Any focused movements through the frontal plane seem to be ignored. Sliding movements (basketball defensive slides come to mind) could easily be done in a small or large space. Weighted exercises could also be done using shoulders, adductors/abductors, trunk stabilizers, etc.

These seem rather functional, especially for those playing sports.
