Thumb Pain/Limited ROM

Hey guys!

Hopefully someone can help me before I go to the Health Services Technicians (HS) on-base and all they do is give me ibuprofen.

About a month ago I was doing this WOD:

Thursday 090625
Complete as many rounds as possible 20 minutes of:
95 pound Thruster, 5 reps
95 pound Hang Powercleans, 7 reps
95 pound Sumo Deadlift High-pull, 10 reps

It may have even started from doing "Grace" in May 09.

Anyway, I have a sharp pain at about an 8 or 9 on both thumbs, at the joint in-between the 1st metacarpal and 1st proximal phalanx. Click image for larger version

ID:	4710 It hurts whenever press on the joint and feels like there may be some inflammation in there.

I've been using the hook grip and I'm guessing that is the cause of the problem with those type of WODs; where the rest of my grip is fatigued but still able to latch onto that thumb and support the barbell in there. I'm thinking there's all kinds of twisting and pulling going on with thumb concerning the hook grip.

Furthermore, I used to be "double-jointed" in my thumbs even more than this kid: picture link (wfs) which I cannot do anymore in the past month. But now it feels like there is rod going through my thumb preventing it from moving out and up toward my elbow. All I can do without pain is go from normal position to reaching over touching my 5th digit.

Any help or insight or recommendations would be appreciated
