If your stomach can tolerate it, take ibuprofen (Advil, etc.), as Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory and will do nothing to assist you with the inflammation and swelling associated with shin splints.

And I definitely agree; exercises and stretching to strengthen and lengthen the muscles of the shins!
