i know this topic has been brought up before, but couldn't get a solid answer based on previous posts. so here are my questions:

what is the best substitute for running? i've been rowing on a concept 2 rower when it calls for running. if it calls for a 400m run i'll row 400m all out, etc. i don't run because of chronic knee problems. too much impact.

if rowing is a valid substitue for running, should i just continue doing what i am doing, or is there a way to figure out what i should be rowing when i use it as a replacement?
