learning lifts on my own

If I learn lifts on my own from the videos on the main page and the SS book, is it going to be helpful for form to be mindful of my thoracic vertebrae curve? Meaning, to keep my posture such that my thoracic curve is correct?

I notice that I tend to be hunched a bit at rest. Is hunched the same as rounded back when people discuss poor form here?
