Jason, it can be done... it's really easy.
Just upload the file directly to your root folder and then put a link to that file as a hotlink directly in your post.
<a href="http:///crossfitwhatever.com/yourfile.doc">Title of File</a>
Whenever a user clicks on "Title of File", it should prompt a download.

P.S. Stay away from AdWords. You really don't wanna be THAT guy. It pays off to rank well for your keywords, not to pay Google to list you on the side.
