Stretch + massage should work along with foam rolling/tennis ball/golf ball to basically break up anything the stretch and massage misses.

Hmm, I don't know about the lactic acid thing Lisa is talking about. That seems a bit shady unless it's actually during exercise although I'm not sure how it would cause a small tear. That doesn't seem right. A

Anyway, feel around in your calf to see if you can feel anything tight or bumpy and bust it up.
