Quad Injury?

I'm doing SS at the mo and before my second work set of squats today I addressed the bar and felt a strange weakness in the upper left side of my left quad (vastus lateris maybe). It was as if it was totally fatigued. I thought I'd try the set and it was fine and I completed the 3rd as well. It sort of feels a little bit like a dead leg. I've had plenty of muscle tears in the past but never a quad strain - is this what it is?? Now it feels like the after effects of getting a dead leg.
