When doing the max weight Clean & Jerks for 10 reps, should we drop the weight to the ground? or control the wieght down?

It seems a potential for injury while trying to control the wieght back down from the clean to hang position.

Also should we go into the deep squat on the clean portion, I've seen it done different ways.
