MadMarvin's Workout Log

I just started Crossfit a few weeks ago after a friend told me a bout it and I'm loving it. I'm still learning a lot on the Olympic lifts and sadly haven't done a lot of leg work in the past, but I'm looking forward to experiencing something totally different.

Little background...I'm 33 yrs old, 6ft and around 180# with a 34'sh waist...I'll weigh in and measure soon for legit stats. My family and I just moved from Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Calgary, Alberta Canada so we've had a lot of changes lately.

I figure I'll start my workout log. Before doing the WOD's I did the "Cindy" workout 3 separate times. The first time I finished 8 rounds. A week later finished 13 rounds and then a friend of mine set the bar at 19 rounds...well the next week I at least matched him with 19 rounds in 20 min. That was totally maxed out for me with pukie nocking at the door, but it felt great. I'm hooked although I'm finding that my strength is definitely in certain areas and not in others. It's humbling, but I really like the fact that Crossfit is forcing me to see the weak areas I've always avoided and is building my total body...not just arms and chest! So enough blab, and here's my workouts from yesterday and today...not too impressive, but it's a start. Legs and overhead presses I would say I'm a novice since I've never done them consistently.

4/20/2008 WOD
Shoulder press 3-3-3-3-3 reps
set 1 @ 95#, Set 2 attempted 135#...no go, but 115# was ok, Sets 3, 4, 5 @115#

4/21/2008 WOD
Back Squat 5-5-5-5-5 reps
Set 1 @135#, Sets 2-5 @185#
