Dumbbell held between ankles usually works well for pull ups and dips. Saw Eva doing pull ups with a 40lb DB when i was at HQ.
Best thing about this option you can "dump" the weight at any time and continue the exercise. Plus there is no cost involved if you already have the dumbbells
