"Kip" is just a term friendly to Crossfitters I guess. Either way I will be trying this out tomorrow night!
Yes, but this doesn't mean we should use the wrong term for a movement. A kip is a staged movement generating momentum with the legs, capturing it with the upper body. Kipping pull up, kip to support on rings, etc. A backward roll to support is just that. A reverse kip is something else. Let's try to keep our terminology correct, otherwise folks looking at CF from other sports/activities will either be confused, or thing that CFers don't know what they are talking about.
