Another note on shooting with a DSLR is that it can give an absolutely beautiful image. With a great lens, you could literally film cinema quality with it. However the down side is that it works best when you manually use the settings, focus and zoom. There is some progress being made with auto zoom, but you can still hear the servo working in the video. In my experience, it takes a good bit to get set up, and shooting.. If you don't feel like spending time looking at settings you might consider one of the canon hand held video cameras. ... but, the image is beautiful, and low light filming is a tad easier.
