Dave Tate has said it is one of the most common problems he's seen while coaching athletes, and he's worked with many more people than you or I have. Riding the elbows as high as you want is NOT proper technique. I don't care how many people you've trained to do it that way, it's not correct.

In the other thread, you said you didn't care what top tier lifters wrote, only what they did. Here's a few lifts you might want to look at. Note that none of the lifters utilize a high elbow placement. Hmmmm, wonder why...
