David...I'm going to have to give it some though. You might be right. Some exercises that involve a lot of bar movement and high reps, kettlebell snatches, kipping pullups? I don't know...it really doesn't make since winding up with bloody hands to prove your tough....

No shoes, well to be honest that is what i hate most about grappling. My instructor insists no shoe, wrestling or any. To me it is unsanitary and feet are just disgusting, though getting out of ankle locks it a bit easier...
