In addition to what Larry/Dave just said, Martin the creator of lean gains said that his fasted training/ macro and calorie cycling are effective with his training plan but would be a bad idea in conjunction with crossfit. Robb wolf also says if you sleep, nutrition, stress and training aren't 100% dialed in then it won't help. It's the last straw when everything else is already dialed in
I'm a firefighter/emt....sleep deprivation and stress are the norm. And it still worked.
My method of training was crossfit while doing IF. Still worked
