You can definitely do them both on the same day. I usually use mine in the morning either like 30 sec easy 30 sec hard for 15-25 min, or just go at a medium effort for 30 min. Sometimes I'll use it as a cool down after heavy lifting, going for like 10-20 min at an easy pace.
