Huge difference. Even the bigger guys had problems getting out of the bottom if they looked forward or up as compared to looking at the deck a few feet in front of them.
I haven't seen the DVD, so maybe I'm not understanding it correctly, but if he is pushing on the hips directly then OF COURSE it's going to be harder looking up! That demonstration would apply to a belted squat much better than a barbell squat.
