I think front squats are the best thing for srtengthening that teardrop head of the quad. However I suggest that if you are feeling your back squats there, then the back squat is going to strengthen that area.

For hip flexors, there are many gymnastics type exercises that are going to help, for example knees-to-elbows style hanging kneeups.
