Re: Cutting weight for meets

10# in a week isn't that outrageous, especially for a wrestler.

Re: Issue with Squats

Develop a stretching routine and stay consistent with it. Within a week or two you'll notice a difference and be able to squat to full depth without trouble.

The key here isn't so much the...

thumb injury -- hook grip

I've been olympic lifting for about 5 years now making significant gains in C&J and Snatch. Of course, I always use the hook grip, but two weeks ago it got the best of me.

I was doing...

Re: Why do you CrossFit

I get bored of routine quickly. I get nervous sometimes waiting for OPT's big dawg's blog to post the next workout. The performance gains are superior to body comp for me, but in an overall sense I...

Training fasted

I know that a lot of you train fasted. I, for one, train much better without anything in my stomach.

I am wondering, though, if anyone has seen any scientific literature covering the...

Re: Intermittent Fasting - thoughts?

I IF once or twice a week. It's sort of a 'reset switch' for me, and I feel better not just training but in school too. It's not for everyone, but give it a try. Personally, I have found it to be...

Bee pollen

I am studying abroad in Greece, and at my local affiliate I got to talking with a member about bee pollen.

Supposedly the bee's in Athens collect excellent pollen, and as a nutritional...

Re: 205 Snatch Fail (Agonizingly Close)

This is interesting.... I am going to have to try that.

I nailed 205 quite cleanly a few weeks ago, but for some reason there is a mental block at 215. I know that 225 is in the wheelhouse, and a...

Re: Regional WODs Announced

From a spectators prospective, if given the choice between a long endurance event or the thruster ladder... that's a no brainer. I'm very happy with the programming.

Pretty sure I will be investing in a pair of Inov-8's once they become more available. Saw Spealler a few weeks ago at a cert wearing them, along with several of the other trainers. Very, very sleek...

The journal is great! A bit tedious to sift through it all, but it is one of the best resources out there for all things conditioning and nutrition.

Re: New Guy here

Interesting. Would you use full fat coconut oil or reduced? In the can or in a carton? I've used the full fat coconut oil in curry, but it was very thick. I'm sure there's better types for drinking.

Re: Best Fish Oil Supplement?

I think Carlson's will be my next purchase of oil. I've heard nothing but good things about the flavor and potency and it's a much better price point than the Nordic Naturals.

Re: Best Fish Oil Supplement?

Nordic Naturals. Personally I take the oil, but the pills are good too.

Very pure. The gold standard of fish oil supplements, IMO.
