Re: Wendler's 5/3/1 and Deadlift day

I actually had a similar experience with wendler 5/3/1 and deadlift day. I remember doing a set of 315# for max reps (i got 10) and feeling so beat up from it that I didn't want to do much else.

My...

Re: ********?

Can you put a space in there somewhere so it doesn't censor it?

Re: 14.4 letdown!!!

I don't see how the first 2 were not inclusive events. This one I can definitely see your point. But the first 2 just had movements that we've seen last year in the crossfit open. This is the...

Re: 14.4 Tips and strategies

I'm guessing concept2 sales are going to see a big rise after the rowing showed up in the open. Also, they had to do something new. Everyone was starting to complain about the lack of variety in open...

Re: 14.4 Tips and strategies

If you can get to them with 4 minutes to spare surely you can get a muscle up?

My big question is approximately how far do I have to row to get 60 calories?

Re: SO Frustrated

I like Mark's answer. It sounds like you have a really negative attitude about all of it. If the other people are giving you bad vibes, i'm sure it's because of the attitude and not the fact that...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

Just watched Malleolo's performance... what??!

If I was watching correctly he went unbroken through the set of 225 and the first 15 of 275. Did 10 on his first set of 315 too. All at a body weight...

Re: Let's talk Airdyne!!

I think my monitor is fine. I'm saying I went at a moderate pace probably 40-45 RPMs and that did 7 calories in a minute. That put it in perspective because I would have to hit 30 calories/minute...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

Yep. Normally 225 doesn't feel that bad... might be able to get a set of 20 if I was completely fresh. But I broke up the set into 5/5/5/5 and my legs were burning

Let's talk Airdyne!!

I just picked one up over the weekend on Craigslist. It's one of the older Schwinn models with the big wheel. I don't have much experience biking and I had never used an airdyne before, but I heard...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

Did you stretch and foam roll immediately after the workout? I did that and didn't have too much soreness from it, but I felt the burn a lot more in my hamstrings and quads than I did in my back. I...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

Deadlift max is 400 and those reps at 275 got really tough. Had like 2 minutes to get as many as I could in that round. Started with a set of 4 and then moved to a set of 2 and then singles. Ended...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

I'm curious to see how hard its going to be. How high of a deadlift max do you need to dominate this workout? I plan to strap a lifting belt on tight and use as much leg as possible to spare my...

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

Is it going to be harder for the elite athletes to distance themselves from the pack on this one?

Re: Shoe Recommendation for Metcons/Running

They have the thing on there for rope climbs. I don't do rope climbs that often anyway.

Re: Shoe Recommendation for Metcons/Running

Update - yesterday I went on my lunch break to a local running store that just opened up because their website said they carried the Inov-8 brand. It turns out they only had 1 type of Inov-8 shoe......

Re: Shoe Recommendation for Metcons/Running

Sport Chalet looks like they have a good amount of nano stuff on their website. Thanks!

Re: Shoe Recommendation for Metcons/Running

I don't know if I'll be able to try on any of these. Is there a retailer that carries Nanos and INOV-8?

How is the sizing on those? Did you get the same size in Nanos as you did INOV-8?

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I think that shows your ranking and the second number is your total points added up (or your ranking in both of the workouts combined). If you want to see how many people are in the division and...
