Re: Belt for Metcon?
Given that the effectiveness of a belt correlates with use of the Valsalva, and that it is probably not feasible to hold your breath on each rep in a met con, I think the belt is unlikely to be of...

Re: Back Squat and Deadlift Form Check?
Daniel,
Squats look pretty good. Bar position looks about right and you are really driving your knees out. Good job. I think you could sit back even more, which will cause you to bend over at...

Re: Squatting, Knees First?
Actually, the knees do go past the toes on a HBBS. This may be the only time I've ever disagreed with you (wfs):

Re: Checking Squat Form
Tim,
I thought these squats were a significant improvement. I can't really judge the bar position on your back, but the mechanics of keeping the bar over your mid-foot suggests that it is better....

Re: Checking Squat Form
I only watched your last set, but noticed several things.
1. Really lift your chest hard/set your lower back. It looks a little soft.
2. It looks like your bar is a bit high on your back,...

Re: Paleo. Where to start?
Refer to Shane's link for what and what not to eat. One of the best things about the Paleo Diet is that you don't need a plan. Eat when hungry, stop when full. Choose foods as noted above. If...

Re: Imitating Pukie the Clown
You're right. This is not remotely scientific. I'd like to see an example of any high level athlete that pukes regularly in training. By this measure, you should be an Olympian. I don't dispute...

Unless you're competing and seconds saved matter to you, you and your shoulders will be better off without the butterfly kip.

If you are resting long periods to recover muscles rather than heart rate, and cannot keep moving at a reasonable pace, you should scale the weight. There are better ways to build strength...

Re: Big 24 Program
A strength program that lasts three weeks and revolves around the oly lifts? I'm skeptical. Serious strength is not built in 3 weeks, and the oly lifts are not the most effective route.
