Re: inflammation and paleo

I find it a strange response that I always see (and I get from people myself) that when I say I don't eat grains they think I don't eat carbs. I'm pretty sure bread, pasta and rice are not the only...

Re: Nike Romaleos inserts..

I initially used the training inserts which kept my heel seated better (at lease deeper in the shoe I suppose). I now wear the comp inserts but it took me little while to feel comfortable in them.

I...

Re: Rhabdo?

I would think any ER doctor actually has significant exposure to Rhabdo (not exercise induced) but from serious vehicle accidents or crush accidents which I imagine are commonplace in most ERs.

Re: Weightlifting shoes?

It does make a huge difference. I am 35 and understand my ROM issues and work on them a fair amount. Sometimes getting comfortable in the bottom position is not about ankle mobility or ROM but it...

Re: Taking the plunge on a NICE bar

If you can get to an affiliate go and test some out. Everyone likes different things. If you are going to drop this kind of cash I would get out and use the bars.

All the best.

Re: Taking the plunge on a NICE bar

I have the Pendlay and DHS and I prefer the spin on the DHS and the centre knurling.

The Pendlay does get used when my hands are feeling a bit soft though.

Re: 10 Rogue Ohio bars, 5 squat stands for sale

Hey Jim, I'll give you $20 Australian but you have to pay shipping.

Sound fair.

Re: $3000 annual affiliation fee???

I agree that the name and branding help getting people in the door but it's not a franchise rather an affiliate. With most franchise businesses (at least in Australia) you are paying for a physical...

Re: olympic bar whip

I have the Pendlay and DHS training bar and I think the DHS may have more but the knurling is a little more aggressive.

Re: Shipping Rogue Ohio Bar (or any oly bar) to Australia

If you want a needle bar the Pendlay is awesome. I've used DHS, Eleiko, Useaka and Rogue and I think the Pendlay is a great alternative to all of these (especially at the cost), and only bested by...

Re: Doing your own thing at a box?

There has to be some give and take surely as each individual has their own goals. Having trained at a few places and now in my garage I find it difficult to believe that each individual is not...

Re: Building out gym - Purchasing Rogue R3 and a question

Get the plate storage pins (singles) and use these to ground/weight the rack. I do this with the R-4 and kipping is no issue at all.

Re: Any reason for more than an R3?

Brian,

I have the R4 and went for it over the R3 because of concerns with 2 things. I wanted 2 people to be able to do kipping pullups at the same time (R3 depth at 23" might lead to lots of kicking...

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

I think if CrossFit is happy with the line "GNC Is the Official Vitamin and Sports Nutrition Retailer of the Reebok CrossFit Games" then they are endorsing it (whether they think they are or not).
