Re: Mike Caviston

A few observations, which will be my final on this subject.

First, since Joey returned with another vigorous argument, I will simply observe that he said (and I paraphrase), "All the people I know...

Re: Mike Caviston

Alex,

That is your personal characterization, and you have no idea whether it accurately reflects Caviston's examination of the subject.

Say things you know and say them accurately. Earlier...

Re: Mike Caviston

To critique Caviston because he is not a SEAL and therefore cannot know how to program for SEALS is also to critique Glassman and the vast majority of x-fit trainers. You can't apply the ad hominem...

Re: Mike Caviston

Caviston has approx 20 years as respected coach and sport physiologist and world class athlete, but you know better. Thanks for the inadvertent comedy of your post.

I expect those who are serious...

My reading of Caviston's post is that adjustments to...

Re: Mike Caviston

Hi-rep Oly lifts. Boyle isn't the only one who thinks they're ill-advised. It is worth reminding the readership that Boyle does train professional athletes.

Calling Caviston an "endurance" coach...

Re: Mike Caviston

Caviston is actually developing programming for SEALS, and doing it successfully, you might just want to think about what he says.

He is hardly alone in his view that workouts using high-rep Oly...

Re: Why do people hate Crossfit?

Jeffrey,

You didn't include the post to which I was responding and thus changed the subject.

First, to your point: Wouldn't an athlete benefit from adding some crossfit programming into his or...

Re: Why do people hate Crossfit?

Define competitive.

Give examples of cross-fitters who train exclusively using crossfit who are competitive with the best. Those who use occasional crossift or crossfit-like workouts wouldn't...

Re: Negative press for San Francisco CrossFit.

This issue isn't Kelly's personally, his knowledge.

The issue is whether his gym adequately protects the health and safety of clients, notablyly newcomers. If his gym has had two cases of rhabdo,...

Proper? Play with...

In addition, the 500 is typically done...

If, having been warned, you put yourself in the hospital, I get your point. That assumes the warnings about the risks are prominent and clear.

If your trainer puts your through a routine that...
