Not sure where this 20rm squat...

Re: Climbing Rope

McMaster-Carr has manilla rope for cheap.

$1.61/ft for 1-1/2"
$3.06/ft for 2"

It lists the prices for 100ft, but you can buy as little as you need. Then it is very easy to eye-splice one end and...

Re: Concept2 Model D: Is PM4 upgrade worth it?

Having a Model D that I bought used with the PM4, I have to say that I have never once used one of the additional features other than the rechargeable battery.

Here is the...

Re: Garage Gym - Mats

I have 3/4" horse stall mats in my garage and I park on top of them every night. I occasionally have to nudge them back into place, but that's the only side effect.

But to answer your first...

Re: Retaining overall fitness during looong hike.

IMO a through hike as long as the PCT is a very specialized form of fitness. I think that trying to maintain a generalized form a fitness is a mistake, as caloric intake on the trail is generally...

Re: Wod: Tgu -wth??

I must say that I did a little head scratching when I saw AMRAP and TGUs in the same workout. I don't object to TGUs (I actually like them a lot), but I was always under the impression that they...

Re: Glute/Ham sit-ups

Move the pad closer to your knees (away from your butt). The first time I tried them I got a nice little tightness in my lower back even with my legs straight. Moved the pad and I've never felt it...

Re: ski/snowboard helmet

I've had a Giro G10 for several years now, and I wouldn't consider snowboarding without it now.

The most important thing to consider is obviously fit, and with Giro, it seems like all of their...

Re: taking up swimming again: need swim gear recommendations

In my experience, the nylon water polo suits last the longest. They will eventually fade and lose all elasticity, but they are still wearable.

My personal preference are the Swedish goggles. Once...

Re: cytomax in the zone diet?

Another option, if you prefer your electrolytes in drink form, is Nuun. Basically Gatorade without the sugar.

Re: cytomax in the zone diet?

You might want to try SaltStick (www.saltstick.com WFS), its an electrolyte capsule that is very common in the Ultra-running arena. It works very well.

Use Simple Green or a similar citrus based degreaser, a scrub brush and a hose. Works great for tires still on the car too.
