Re: CrossFit and/vs Yoga

Wow, good conversation. Thanks for all the feedback.

As I hinted in the title, I think the answer, for me at least, is yoga AND CF. Probably in about a 4-2 mix, perhaps 5-1. I won't ever be in...

Re: CrossFit and/vs Yoga

First I'll address the questions so far. Note that the main point I have above is that my CF performances - including pure strength - all improved while doing only yoga and no CF (except for the...

CrossFit and/vs Yoga

After CrossFitting pretty faithfully for about 2 years, due to a variety of circumstances, I've been doing yoga for 3 months. During this time I've been doing a lot of mental comparing and...

Re: The Economics of Membership Pricing

I was surprised earlier this week when my trainer offered a reward for anyone who did Tabata Squats...

Re: The Economics of Membership Pricing

I am still hearing the idea that the training is "worth it", and while that it is true it is a completely different point than using incentives to improve your business. So let's look at two...

Re: The Economics of Membership Pricing

One thing to consider is that using incentives to encourage your clients to show up - the first and most important step to changing their behavior - only helps you (as the affiliate owner/coach)...

Re: The Economics of Membership Pricing

I didn't anticipate an argument over the very existence of a market for capped weekly visits. Certainly there is a market, as proven by Katherine and me. Whether this market is worth addressing is...

Re: South Calgary CrossFit

Thanks Kurt! Had no idea about that. I am pretty close to the Shawnessy Y (man that place gets packed!) so I will look it up. Also I work right near Eau Claire so that may work.

Thanks...

The Economics of Membership Pricing

This is not another post on why CrossFit costs "too much", but I will explain why it feels that way to a lot of clients by applying simple economic theory. In particular, incentives.

Many...

Re: South Calgary CrossFit

OK, not much interest thus far. I finally found the True CrossFit schedule so I'll check 'em out and see if I can recruit in person. :welcome:

South Calgary CrossFit

With CrossFit Calgary way up in the NW and True Crossfit kind of inconvenient, I am hoping to find a couple CrossFitters in southern Calgary. I live in Evergreen and have my own gym. It has some...

Re: Who's seen the new Outside Mag?

For me, the main difference between CrossFit and Gym Jones is which website I open first each day. As a weekend warrior type (and pretty inconsistent at that) I am not paying $1000 for a...

Re: Old Concept II in Calgary.

Thanks for the pointer - I picked this up last night. Total classic! Definitely a fair price for the seller, but I didn't to negotiate with the lovely older woman. What a classic! It must be 20...

Re: CF Grand Opening this Sat. in Broomfield, CO

Wow, CF in Broomfield, great news. I was worried I would have to open my own when I get out there! ;) Now I can just come work out with you.

Good luck!

I use my 37 lb daughter instead of a sandbag...she'll love the cleans, not so sure about the throws...

Lightbulb Create My Thailand Vacation WODs!

Would you like to help program my workouts for a month-long trip to Thailand?
