Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I think if they were to do another repeat, the 7 min thruster/C2B ladder is a good one. Do four new workouts and repeat the same one each time to document improvement over several years. Sure, people...

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

So, now are there two world records for WOD 6? One with 205 and one with 225? Or is the 205 just a Canadian record?

Re: Reebok Oly Shoes.

Can anyone comment on the width of the Adidas Powelift Trainer? I know Adidas tend to run narrow and wanted to see if that was the case for this shoe as well.

Re: Weight Vest

I've used the MIR washable vest (not sure of the model name, air flow???) and own the Rogue Box Vest. The Rogue is fine, but I actually found the MIR to be a bit more comfortable. I could see the...

Re: Again Faster vs. Rogue Ultra Speed Jump Ropes

I've tried quite a few ropes out there and really like the Muscle Driver Speed Cable rope. Low cost, light weight, good length handles, and easy to adjust the cable length.

I have the RX rope and...

Re: New Balance MX20 for $55

Thanks for info. Is this a coupon sale or can I just go in and get the shoes?

Re: Iron skull kettlebells

Looks like there is no $25 charge if you get a plain black KB. It looks like they are out of stock of the plains in the 1.5 and 2 pood though.

Re: New Balance MX20

Details are pretty minor:

a) take them back to the retailer you bought them from

or

b) call New Balance's customer service numner (800.253.7463)

I found them to be very responsive when...

Re: New Balance MX20

I had the same experience. The rope just ate right through the sole. I thought the sole was a bit light, so I covered it in several layers of duct tape prior to rope use and that didn't help. New...

Re: A very impressive thruster from the Games

In one of the games videos he said that he's been doing crossfit for 7-months. TJ's also has a "barbell club", so he was likely working on that before getting into crossfit stuff.

Re: Looking for some rings

Wood is the way to go (if you're not using them in wet weather). I have a pair of the Fringe Sport wood rings and they feel like they are between the Standard Rogue size ring and a FIG size ring (not...

Re: LOVE watching the games, BUT.......

Agreed. It seemed the only way to get anything was to ask about it during the briefing. The way it appeared, in my opinion, was as if Castro was just making stuff up on the fly including the rules....

Re: New Balance MX20

I used them briefly for some scrambling on granite. The sole is pretty soft and would get torn up rather quickly. I'd recommend the MT10 (Trail Shoe) as it has the more durable Vibram sole.

With...

Re: What type of gymnastic rings are better?

I prefer rings without the slot for the straps. This gives some options to have one half of the ring taped and the other without tape to accomodate different preferences. I haven't had any issues...
