Breath and Proper Breathing Technique

I have been listening to a lot of podcasts lately and I keep hearing stuff about "breathing." I really never put much thought into it but now I realize that this has been a terrible mistake. If...

Re: Back Tightness during WODs

Thanks Phil. Question... My hamstrings are probably the least flexible muscle in my body. In fact, it's odd how flexible I am in certain areas (like squatting) but when I do hamstring related...

Re: Back Tightness during WODs

Thank you for all of the suggestions guys.

After reading about lordosis and evaluating my posture, it seems like this could totally be an issue for me. I'm going to get back to the "couch...

Back Tightness during WODs

So this is not necessarily an "injury" I've been dealing with or maybe I'm just not categorizing it as such. Over the past two months, I have been dealing with severe back "tightness" during certain...

Re: Most Durable CF Shoe?

Well, was going to go for the 2.0's to save some money but there was a Groupon discount for Eastbay that had the 4.0's at $89.99. Add to that a 15% coupon code that I had for them and it was a no...

Re: Most Durable CF Shoe?

I am considering just going with the 2.0's. I actually like the styling a lot more than the 4.0 and they seem like they might be more practical for everyday type wear.

Any opinions on the 2.0 vs....

Re: Most Durable CF Shoe?

I would purchase another pair of mx20v1s. I still think that is the best sneaker I ever owned. They lasted me the longest. I still wear them occasionally with a hole in the toe. :)

Most Durable CF Shoe?

So I am currently wearing the New Balance 20v3. Have had this shoe for a few months now and a hole is already starting to develop in the toe areas. I wear these as my everyday CF shoes and also...

Re: Shoulder Pain Advice

So, had to come back here to update. Went to see Dr. Sean today as per your recommendation. He thought it was pretty cool that a referral came from someone in Carolina. :)

So, explained my pain...

Thank you for this. This is about 15 minutes from me and I have already contacted him for an appointment. I will keep this thread updated.

I did the rotator cuff tests and believe they were...

Re: Shoulder Pain Advice

Thank you. I'm not sure who to go to. Should I go to a chiro, pt or directly to an orthopedist?

Shoulder Pain Advice

It's odd, but I really think I injured my shoulder shoveling snow here in NY. I think that is where it happened, but pretty sure I aggravated it about 8 weeks ago at CF. Felt serious pain while...

Creatine Questions

I never used creatine consistently until recently. Would always start and stop after a couple of weeks and never saw results. Over the last 5 weeks, I have been using it everyday and am shocked...

Re: eggs, red meat and cholesterol

I was going to say this. I think the quality of the eggs and meat far outweighs the question about quantity.

Grass fed and finished meat as well as eggs from free roaming chickens have...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

I definitely have learned so much from the foundation program. I'm only a couple of weeks into it and I have to say that I am almost back to 100%. It's incredible that just three weeks ago I could...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

Scott,

Thanks for the reply. I purchased the book on my kindle and I am still on the first two weeks. I am following it by the numbers even though I could probably do some more advanced stuff.

I...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

Thanks Brian. I will look into that.

Went to workout today. Spoke to coach who said he had very similar symptoms to mine and it was not his back, but rather his hips. I am going to look into that...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

So I have been to the chiropractor twice now. I have noticed that my back was feeling great just before going to chiro. Not 100%, but using the foundation methods, I felt that I was on the way to...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

Got x-rays today and will bring them to the chiro on Friday to see what's up. Pain has subsided and it is feeling better. Still concerned though. I don't think I'd be able to lift with a clear...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

Went to Chiro and he said it is probably just a strain and compression since there is very little pain and nothing going on in my leg to accompany the back issues. This chiro actually trains olympic...

Re: Lower Back Pain?

Thanks! I just wanted to amend this thread as I think I may have wrongly categorized what I have as "pain." It's really more "tightness" that I feel when getting up from sitting and at random...
